Moshe Sharett, former Prime Minister of Israel, has appealed to American Jews to settle in Israel but stipulated Israel wants American Jews to come out of an inner compulsion to do so and not from outside propaganda pressures. He spoke at a Histadrut rally here.
“The ones who lack this compulsion or will and cannot come to Israel must help to build Israel and strengthen it against our enemies,” Mr. Sharett said. He urged American Jews to help through the Histadrut and by similar means. Discussing the economic sector of Israel’s growth, he said there was ample room for both private and public initiative to help develop the Jewish State’s economy.
