Supreme Headquarters of the Allied Expeditionary Forces today granted permission to the Joint Distribution Committee to enter Germany in order to extend aid to stateless Jews in coordination with the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration.
Three groups of J. D. C. workers are leaving immediately for the camps at Bergen-Belzen and Salzwedel where 3,000 Jewish internees are concentrated. The office of the Joint Distribution Committee here is also planning to send physicians, nurses and Elfare workers to Dachau and Buchenwald. The personnel will be recruited in the United States by the J. D. C., in England by the Jewish Committee for Relief Abroad, and in France by the OSE.
A contingent of 500 Jewish children from Buchenwald is expected here tomorrow. The J. D. C. and the OSE have arranged that the children be placed at Thionville temporarily so that they may regain their health.
