Former President Zalman Shazar was reported to be in a serious condition today at Hadassah Hospital where he was admitted over the weekend. Doctors refused to specify the nature of his illness. Shazar is 85. His wife, Rachel, who suffered a stroke two years ago, is in a convalescent home in northern Israel.
