Sheikh Abu Rushdi Natour, a Druze from Daliyat A1-Carmel village near Haifa, just returned from a one-man technical assistance mission to West Germany. The Sheikh, a baker by trade, taught bakers in Munich how to make pitta, the round, flat bread of the Middle East. He went to Munich at the invitation of German investors who have since established a pitta bakery there. According to Abu Rushdi, the demand for pitta and falafel is on the rise in Germany.
