Simon Shetzer, nationally prominent Jewish leader, ##ied here yesterday at the age of 47. He served as executive director of the Zionist organization of America from 1941 to 1943, when illness forced him to resign.
Born in Detroit, he was active in the city’s commural affairs and was president of the Detroit Jewish Community Council from 1937 to 1941. He also served as director of the local chapter of the American Jewish Congress.
