Reuven Shilcah, Israel’s chief delegate to the U.N. Conciliation Commission peace talks now taking place at Lausanne, left for Switzerland late today following week-end consultations with high government officials. It is understood that he is taking back with him instructions from the Israel Government on its attitude to the Lausanne negotiations and to the newly-formed economic survey group.

Following intensive talks which Mr. Shiloah held at the Foreign Ministry prior to his return to Lausanne, it was pointed out in informed circles here that the Israel Government welcomes the development plans which will be initiated by the new body and appreciates the fact that the previously restricted discussions at Lausanne will now be conducted on a broader level, and that the economic talks will be designed to solve the overall economic problems of the Middle East.

The Israel Government, according to these same quarters, is said to be ready to cooperate with the new survey group, whose headquarters will be established in Jerusalem where the government contemplates setting up an appropriate liaison office.
