The Estonian steamer Estonia has been torpedoed in the Baltic with a cargo of 110 cases of clothing, shoes and other supplies shipped from the United States to refugees in Wilno, it was reported here today. The ship last month had been seized by a Nazi warship while transporting Polish refugees, all of whom were interned at Swinemuende.
Meanwhile, the Swedish Airways announced that no Polish passengers of military age, between 18 and 50, will be taken on the Riga-Stockholm route. Since the shipping lines also are not accepting Polish passengers, Poles will be unable to leave the Baltic area for western Europe.
