Shmuel Eliashiv, one-time Israel Minister to Moscow died at Beilinson Hospital today. He was 56. Mr. Eliashiv, who served as deputy director general of the Foreign Ministry since his retirement as Minister to Moscow last year, also served as Israel Minister to Prague and Budapest. A Socialist Zionist, he was active in Lithuania before the war, serving as director of the Jewish National Fund there and in the Jewish Agency’s Palestine Office in Kaunas.
