The Suez Canal front remained quiet over the week-end but shooting erupted along Israel’s borders with Jordan and Lebanon. Four Israeli soldiers and two border policemen were wounded. An Israeli Arab youth was killed in the Arab village of Fasutta in Galilee when a mine exploded in an orchard where he was working Friday. Two other villagers were Injured. Israeli Air Force Jets blasted guerrilla bases and Jordanian Army positions in Jordan Friday after heavy mortar attacks on Yardena and Moaz Chaim in the Beisan Valley the night before. The assault was the first on Jordanian Army positions since the 90-day cease-fire began on Aug. 7. An Israeli spokesman said the targets were in the region of Irbid where Jordanian regulars were aiding the guerrillas. He said all planes returned safely to their bases. A Jordanian spokesman in Amman charged Israel with two cease-fire violations in a single day. He said the Israeli jets wrecked a supply base wounding seven guards. An Israeli patrol was fired on this morning in the northern Beisan Valley near Ashdot Yaacov. There were no casualties. Manera settlement in Upper Galilee was shelled from Lebanese territory last night without casualties.
