The New York Film Critics chose yesterday “The Shop on Main Street” as the best foreign language film of 1966. The Czech-made film drama, depicting the Nazi liquidation of the Jews in a Czech city, was the first film from Czechoslovakia to win such an award from the New York film critics. Ida Kaminska, the noted actress of the Polish Yiddish theater, was the star of the film.
