A drive to raise $20,000, Shreveport’s quota of the Allied Jewish Campaign, was begun here this week. Leaders of the drive expect not only to raise the full quota, but also that Shreveport will go over the top.
At a meeting of the North Louisiana Zionist District a resolution was passed congratulating Sidney L. Herold, Zionist leader and philanthropist and a life member of the Zionist Organization of America, on the attainment of his fiftieth birthday and testifying to the high admiration in which he is held by the District for his support of Jewish causes. The meeting also decided to inscribe Mr. Herold’s name in the Golden Book of the Jewish National Fund.
