Sigmund Frey, seventy-seven years of age, a noted Hebrew scholar and writer, and formerly a contributing editor of the “B’nai B’rith Messenger” of this city, died at his home after an illness which had kept him in retirement for the past three years.
Dr. Frey, who for thirty-eight years was a rabbi, was born in Moravia, and came to America in 1890. He came to Los Angeles in 1909 to act as superintendent of the Jewish Orphans’ Home, which position he occupied for 15 years.
