Sigmund Livingston, founder and chairman of the Anti-Defamation League of the B’nai B’rith, died here today following a short illness. He was 73.
Mr. Livingston, who founded the league in 1910, devoted much of his time to writing and organizing campaign to fight anti-Semitism in America. He wrote “Must Men Hate,” and a number of other books and articles on the problem of minority groups and democracy. He was born in Germany and began the practice of law in Bloomington, Illinois, 50 years ago.
