Simultaneously with the reelection this week of its officers, headed by Samuel I. Kessler, president, the Y. M.-Y. W. H. A. launched plans for a week’s celebration from May 7 to 14, to commemorate fifty years of “Y” endeavor in this city and ten years since the doors of the present institution at High and Kinney streets were opened.

It is planned to inaugurate the observance with a ten-dollar dinner to honor four of the leading founders of the institution: Philip Lindeman, member of the Essex County Board of Freeholders, who was the first president of the “Y” here fifty years ago; A. J. Dimond, who was president when the building was opened a decade ago; Isaac Lowenstein, his successor as president; and Mrs. Felix Fuld, for her intensive interest and cooperation as well as for the devotion to the center movement on the part of her husband, the late philanthropist and merchant.

It is planned to have a variety of projects, including social, athletic, dramatic and educational events during the week’s observance. The athletic and dramatic units as well as the educational council and social council have been already organized along these lines.
