Since the Palestinian intifada began in September 2000, 810 Israelis and foreign visitors have been killed and about 5,600 have been injured. An official with the Israel Defense Force told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Tuesday that 567 of those killed were civilians and 243 were soldiers.
