The “Sir Herbert Samuel Quarter Company” which was formed in 1919 by a number of Roumanian Jews has up to the present purchased 3,350 dunam of land to the south of Mount Carmel for the establishment of the quarter. Fifty houses will be built there.
14,000 new members were recruited by the Philadelphia Young Men’s and Young Women’s Hebrew Association in a week’s campaign which closed on Sunday, Nov. 16. Stuart Louchheim was leader of the drive.
$13,000 was raised at the opening in Philadelphia of the $30,000 Jewish National Fund Campaign.
