Sir Isaac Wolfson, British philanthropist, disclosed here last night that the Wolfson family had made a contribution of more than 700,000 pounds ($1,960,000) for projects in Israel.
The funds, which will be made available over the next seven years, will go for new housing in Acre. The projects will include 520 dwellings, two synagogues, a children’s playground, a park, a hospital and other facilities needed by a modern community. One hundred thousand pounds ($280,000) of the total is part of the funds pledged to this year’s Joint Palestine Appeal.
