Sir Landon Ronald, Famed British-jewish Composer, Dead at 65

The death was announced here today of Sir Landon Ronald, Distinguished British-Jewish composer, conductor and music critic. He died at the age of 65 in his London home after a long illness.

Since 1910 Sir Landon had been principal of the Guildhall School of Music, and since 1908 conductor of the famous royal Albert Hall Orchestra (now in the new Symphony).

As conductor he led the chief symphony orchestras of the world, making several command appearances before queen victoria, and coming to America in 1894 as conductor with Madame Melba. He was knighted in 1922.
