A sire of land costing over $100,000 and the building to be erected on it is the generous gift of Sir Mortimer R. Davis well known Canadian philanthropist to the local Young Men’s Hebrew Association. The “Y” has long been in need of an adequate building to house its growing activities.
Purchase of the site was completed last week and a committee is working with archireats on plans. The ground will be broken in the spring. The building will overlook Mount Royal Park.
Rabbi Samuel Who was installed as rabbi of Reading Read Temple. ## on Friday. Dr. Julian Morgenstern Dr. David Philipson and Dr. Abba Hilled Silver participated in the installation ceremonies.
