Sir Simon Marks, merchant-philanthropist well known in Jewish affairs in this country, was reported today to have made a gift of more than 100, 000 pounds (over $280, 000) to the Royal College of Surgeons. Seven years ago, he gave the college a gift of 52, 500 pounds ($147, 000).
