Six displaced Jews today went on trial before a military government summary court in Bamberg charged with assaulting American personnel at the Bamberg DP camp Jan. 22.
The incident occurred when two American investigators, wearing civilian clothes, attempted to enter the camp. DP policemen guarding the gate took the two men into custody until proper identification could be made. Both men were released as soon as it was established that they were Americans.
The arrival here of refugees from Eastern Europs, which had increased last week to 100 daily, has dropped again to the “normal” rate of 25 or less per day.
