Nearly six hundred women attended the Israel Orphan Asylum Sisterhood at the Central Park Casino Monday afternoon. Judge Gustave Hartman, president of the orphan asylum, greeted the women on behalf of the Institution and introduced Fannie Hurst, who addressed the group. During her remarks, Miss Hurst said, “We need more than ever the immense humanitarianism of you women.”
Mrs. Samuel Kahn was chairman of the afternoon and Mrs. Jacob and Mrs. Alfred Frankenthaler, vicepresidents. Among those present were Mrs. David Sarnoff, Mrs. James J. Farley, Mrs. John P. O’Brien, Mrs. Martha Frankenthaler, Mrs. Gabriel Haber, Mrs. Gustave Hartman, Mrs. Gordon V. Lyons, Mrs. Adolf Coh, Mrs. Manrice P. Hartman, Mrs. Hugo Levy, Mrs. Morris D. Meltzer, Mrs. Mary Freundlich, Mrs. Mary Sadev, Mrs. Nathan Lobel, Mrs. Abraham Marcus, Mrs. Sigmund Weitzen, Mrs. Abraham Feierstein, Mrs. Jennie M. Zipser, Mrs. Theresa Kohn, Mrs. Sadie Altman, Mrs. Max Steinberg, Mrs. William Kleinman, Mrs. Samuel Roseman.
