A joint meeting of the six Jewish members of the Jerusalem municipality together with Jewish leaders, called for solving the problem of the vice mayorship, broke up this evening without having come to any decision.

M. M. Ussishkin, director of the Jewish National Fund, Daniel Auster, newly – appointed vice mayor of Jerusalem, and the delegates of the Sephardic groups walked out of the meeting. Abraham Almaliah, representative of the Sephardic community in the Vaad Leumi, the Jewish National Council, and recently-elected member of the municipal council, was prohibited by the Sephardic delegates from participating further in the Vaad Leumi unless Mr. Auster is confirmed as vice mayor.
