CONTINUING DISORDERS TODAY CLAIMED THE LIFE OF ANOTHER JEW, THE SIXTH IN ELEVEN DAYS, WHEN AN ARAB GANG KILLED WILLY WEISS, 21-YEAR-OLD AUSTRIAN, DURING A HOLD-UP ON THE MAIN ROAD NEAR NAHALAL. THE SLAYING BRINGS THE ARAB-JEWISH DEATH TOLL TO 21. THE PALESTINE GOVERNMENT IMMEDIATELY POSTED A $5,000 REWARD FOR CAPTURE OF THE SLAYER.

WEISS’S COMPANION, MICHAEL DUBOVSKY, 30, WAS SHOT AND WOUNDED AS HE ATTEMPTED TO ESCAPE FROM THE ARAB BANDITS AFTER BOTH HAD BEEN PULLED FROM THEIR CAR AND ROPED. THE TWO JEWS WERE SEIZED AS THEY APPROACHED THE BAND WHICH WAS IN THE ACT OF HOLDING UP A CAVALCADE OF EIGHT ARAB CARS.

MOSHE SHERTOK, HEAD OF THE POLITICAL DEPARTMENT OF THE JEWISH AGENCY EXECUTIVE, INTERVIEWED WILLIAM D. BATTERSHILL, ACTING BRITISH HIGH COMMISSIONER, BEFORE LEAVING BY PLANE FOR GENEVA, WHERE THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS COUNCIL WILL CONSIDER BRITISH PROPOSALS TO PARTITION PALESTINE AT ITS SESSION OPENING TOMORROW.
