Sixty Canadian chalutzim left for Israel in 14 months, from October 1950 to December 1951, according to a report submitted to the convention of the Zionist Organization of Canada by Rabbi Samuel Cass, chairman of the chalutziut committee.
Of these, 40 percent belonged to the Labor Zionists and 30 percent belonged to Hashomer Hatzair; Mizrachi and Young Judaea contributed some five percent each and the remainder were in unaffiliated and professional categories. The report also stressed certain achievements in the emigration of professionals from Canada to Israel.
