Dr. John Slawson, executive vice-president of the American Jewish Committee, today urged Jews, Catholics and Protestants in the United States to “forge a new program for unity” to deal with the Communist imperialist threat. He pointed out that representatives of the Judeo-Christian tradition were now a numerical minority in the United Nations.

Speaking at the annual dinner meeting of the Westchester Chapter of the AJC. Dr. Slawson said that “any religious divisiveness or tensions” within the U.S. will weaken the position of the free world. He said that this divisiveness could arm the Soviets with “anti-religious propaganda fodder” for use in the newly independent non-Christian countries.
