Legalized robbery of Jewish property in Slovakia continues unabated under various decrees for “Aryanization” of Jewish enterprises, confiscation of bank deposits and real estate and through the special levy imposed by the Slovakian authorities on Jews, while 30,000 Jews – a third of the entire Slovakian Jewish population – have been completely eliminated from the economic life of the country.
A report issued by the Slovak Press Bureau, reaching here today reveals that the Slovakian government expects the levy on Jewish property to yield 600,000,000 crown. The special taxation on Jews was preceeded by confiscation of fifty percent of all Jewish bank deposits, yielding 180,000,000 crowns to the government.
The report summarizes the “achievements” on the “Jewish front” in Slovakia, disclosing that of the approximately 100,000 Jews in the country some 89,000 were forced to register their property with the Government. It estimates that this property is worth 2,562,000,000 crowns. It confirms that anti-Jewish laws eliminating Jews from employment in “aryanized” enterprises and reducing their salaries in Jewish enterprises have reduced Jewish yearly earnings by 400,000,000 crowns. The liquidation of 9,160 Jewish firms has resulted in altogether eliminating 30,000 Jews from economic life, the report informs.
