A modern orphanage and apprentices’ home is being built by the Social Relief Union of the Jews of Slovakia. A subsidy of $5,000 has been given for this purpose by the Joint Distribution Committee. Two thousand dollars of this sum will be used to purchase a suitable site. It is expected that the government will follow in the footsteps of the Joint Distribution Committee and also give a subsidy for the building.
