Smuts Asserts Anti-semitism Doomed to Fail

General Jan C, Smuts, Minister of Justice in the South African government and former premier, laid the cornerstone of a new synagogue in Cape Town today and declared that he was convinced that anti – Semitism is doomed to fail.

“As long as I am Minister of Justice there will be equal justice for all, there will be no underdog and no ghetto in South Africa,” General Smuts declared. He added that the Jews of the world need not fear the future, because “public opinion will right the Jewish world position.”

South African Jewry recently raised a fund to found a colony in Palestine to be known as Kfar Smuts, in honor of the statesman, and in recognition of his friendship for the Jews.
