E.J. Horowitz, chairman of the South African Board of Jewish Deputies, last night lashed out at politicians who have been holding the entire Jewish community of South Africa or the Board responsible for the political views expressed by individual Jews.

Speaking at a meeting of the Board, Mr. Horowitz pointed out that such a development robs individuals of their basic political rights. He declared that Jews must insist upon the right of every individual Jew to play his full role in the political life of the country, especially so in the case of Jews active in political life or in Parliament. He underlined the fact that a Jewish Member of Parliament speaks not for the Jewish community but for himself or for his political party.
