Simon E. Sobeloff has been appointed by Governor-elect Harry W. Nice as head of a committee to draft unemployment insurance legislation for Maryland.
Mr. Sobeloff, former United States District Attorney and Deputy City Solicitor of Baltimore, sponsored the unemployment insurance bill that was passed by the Maryland House of Delegates in the session of 1933, but was killed in the Senate. Other members of the committee included:
Walter Hollander, treasurer of the Maryland Pharmaceutical Company; Daniel Ellison, attorney and sole Republican member of Baltimore’s City Council; David London, president of the Al-Lon Manufacturing Company, and Sidney Lansburgh, president of the Associated Jewish Charities.
