The Berlin Vorwaerts, leading Socialist organ, today demands that the Prussian government institute an inquiry into the anti-Semitic student disturbances on the grounds of the University of Berlin. The probe, the Vorwaerts says, should expose the intention of the National Socialist students to subject their Jewish classmates to abuse and humiliation.
Meanwhile Dean Deismann has organized a monitor service composed of students from all parties in order to maintain order. The press complains, however, that a majority of these monitors are National Socialists who are patrolling the University’s corridors wearing swastika badges and abusing all Jewish-looking students, thus defeating the purpose of the monitors.
