A demand that the United States Government send food to the starving populations of occupied Europe and attempt to take as many refugees as possible from Nazi-held countries was voiced here today at a meeting of the National Executive Committee of the Socialist Party.
The committee instructed its national office to write to President Roosevelt, Secretary of State Hull and members of Congress urging;
“1. The extension of agreements similar to that of the British in regard to Greece which would extend food to Europe’s children,” and “2. Removal of all possible refugees who desire to establish new permanent homes or who desire temporary homes for the duration of the war.”
