The French Socialist Party has decided to oppose a new government bill to restrict the status of some 200,000 naturalized French citizens, a great majority of whom are Jews. Under the proposed measure, these new citizens could be deprived of their French nationality and could even be deported arbitrarily by the police without any judicial safeguards.
