On Friday, October 5, a daughter, Ann, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rubinger of 1185 Park avenue at the Doctors Hospital. Mrs. Rubinger is the former Miss Vivian Kaplan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Kaplan of 1175 Park avenue.

Miss Irene Estelle Butler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Henry Butler of this city, was married to Joshua Morrison, son of Abraham Morrison of New York at the home of the bride’s parents, 173 Riverside drive. Rev. Dr. Israel Goldstein performed the ceremony.

After a wedding trip to Europe the couple will make their home in Jerusalem, as Mr. Morrison has been recently appointed a representative of the Palestine Economic Corporation.

Announcement has been also made of the marriage of Miss Yvette Barschi, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Barschi of this city to Howard R. Axelrad, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Axelrad, also of New York. The wedding took place in the Louis Napoleon Room of the Delmonico and Rev. Dr. Max Drob officiated.

Miss Janet Constance Ballin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Ballin of 1111 Park avenue, and Bernard Rubinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rubinger, of 390 West End avenue, will be married October 16 in the Italian Garden of the Ambassador Hotel. Dr. Israel Goldstein is going to officiate.

Mrs. Louis Surut will be matron of honor, Miss Therese Reineman maid of honor, and Pauline Klau, flower girl. Charles Rubinger will be best man for his son, and the ushers will be Messrs. Ralph, Leo, Maurice, and Monroe Rubinger, brothers of the groom; Stanley Balling, brother of the bride, and Charles Wohlstetter.

Miss Ballin is a graduate of Calhoun School and of the Ethical Culture Teachers’ Training School. Mr. Rubinger is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.

Announcement has been made of the engagement of Miss Katherine Affelder, daughter of Mrs. Louis J. Affelder of Pittsburgh, to Dr. Herman G. Rosenbaum, also of Pittsburgh. Miss Affelder has been a student and research worker in this city since 1928. Dr. Rosenbaum is practicing medicine in Pittsburgh.

The engagement has been announced of Miss Jeanette M. Fiverson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Fiverson of Newark, N. J., to Paul R. Kleinberg, son of Mrs. Nathan Kleinberg of Newark and the late Mr. Kleinberg.

Miss Fiverson was graduated from the New Jersey College for Women in 1933. Mr. Kleinberg is a graduate of the New Jersey Law School and is now practicing law in Newark.

At the residence of the officiating rabbi Theodore F. Joseph, Miss Sylvia Hertzog of 2294 Grand avenue, Brooklyn, was married to Daniel Woolf, also of Brooklyn. The couple will, after a honeymoon in Bermuda, reside in New York.
