The engagement of Dorothy Starr Einstein, daughter of Mrs. C. Ludwig Baumann and Walter S. Einstein, to Frank S. Hess of Elberon, N. J., son of Mrs. Julian S. Hess and the late Mr. Hess, has been announced. Mr. Hess is a graduate of Yale University, ’31.
A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Julius Loewenthal of 40 West Seventy-seventh street and Wood-mere, L. I., on June 7th at the Lenox Hill Hospital.
Mrs. Arthur Hofheimer of the Hotel Carlyle and Longacre Farm, Warrenville, N. J., announces the engagement of her daughter, Miss Helene Joy Hofheimer, to Joseph J. Siccardi, son of Mrs. James Siccardi of Plainfield, N. J.
Invitations have been issued by Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt Milhauser of 1010 Fifth avenue to the wedding of their niece, Miss Halle Schlesinger, to Arthur Cowan. The ceremony and the reception which will follow it will be held at the Century Country Club on June 27th at 4 p. m.
Miss Josephine Alma Wertheim, daughter of Maurice Wertheim and Mrs. Paul Lester Wiener of New York, was married on June 8th to Ralph Pomerance, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pomerance of 210 East Seventy-third street. The ceremony was performed by Judge Irving Lehman of the Court of Appeals. A reception at the home of the bride’s father followed the wedding.
The bride is a graduate of Smith College. She is a granddaughter of Henry Morgenthau Sr., former ambassador to Turkey. Mr. Pomerance was graduated from the architectural school of the Carnegie Institute of Technology.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl H. Pforzheimer Jr. announce the birth of a daughter on June 13th at Lenox Hill Hospital. Mrs. Pforzheimer is the former Miss Carol Koehler.
