Mrs. Edwin Dannenbaum of Philadelphia visited her daughter, Mrs. Edgar Rossin, of 308 East Seventy-ninth street this week.
Miss Louise Grumbach, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Grumbach, of 116 East Seventy-eighth street is planning to sail for Europe on the S. S. Gripsholm on July 3. She will land at Gothenburg, and subsequently take a cruise on the S. S. Stella Polaris with a friend. She will later go to England and return to America some time in September.
Mrs. Aaron Coleman has opened her home on Elberon avenue in Elberon, N. J., for the Summer. Her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Dillenberg, will spend the Summer with her.
Among the gardens which were opened last week end for the benefit of the Westchester County Children’s Association were those of Mr. Samuel Untermyer and Governor and Mrs. Herbert H. Lehman. Greystone, Mr. Untermyer’s home in Yonkers on the Hudson River is famous for its elaborate Greek garden and its marvelous collection of orchids. This garden was open on Saturday. Governor Lehman’s garden was open both Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. Max J. H. Rossbach of White Plains was chairman of the Garden Day Committee.
The Century Country Club in Westchester is celebrating the opening of its bar with a cocktail party and a dinner dance. A good many members who have opened their homes in Westchester will have guests for the week end. Miss Pheobe Hochstader, Mr. Richard Sidenberg and Mr. George Blun will visit Miss Evelyn Sonn at her home in Portchester.
Mrs. Walter Lowenthal gave a dinner dance in honor of her daughter, Miss Marjorie Lowenthal, at her home, Evelwalt Farms, in Scarsdale. The guests were asked to wear farm costumes, and a large barn was attractively arranged for the affair. Among those who attended were the Misses Nancy Straus, Isabel Tiefentahl, Susan Wimpfheimer and Jane Jacobs, and the Messrs. John Falk, Richard Bernheim, William Koshland, Sidney New, Henry Lane, Edgar Sinauer, John Meyer, Jerome Danzig and George Weil.
Mrs. Edgar Rossin gave a dinner party for a few friends on Monday evening. Among those who were present were Mr. and Mrs. Carl H. Pfhorzheimer Jr., Miss Elizabeth Blun and Mr. Sven Wennborg.
Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Ullman have taken a home in Darien, Conn., for the Summer.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Danzig, of the Carlyle Hotel, are planning to take a trip to California this Summer.
