The Zionist Executive in London sought unsuccessfully to prevail upon the Palestine High Commissioner during his London visit not to announce the formation of a Legislative Council for Palestine, Nahum Sokolow, president of the World Zionist Organization reveals in an interview which appears in the “Pariser Hajnt”.

The world Zionist head declares that members of the cabinet were also interviewed but the government remains determined to carry out its plans in connection with the Legislative Council.

Nevertheless a number of years will elapse before the Legislative Council plans are carried out in view of the fact that local self government plans must first be carried out and elections held, Dr. Sokolow said.
