Sol Luckman, a nationally active Jewish communal leader, died here this weekend at the age of 70. He was among the top leadership of the United Jewish Appeal and the Israel Bond Organization as well as numerous Cincinnati philanthropic endeavors.
Born in New York City, Mr. Luckman was a former national chairman and, at the time of his death, honorary national chairman of the U.J. A. He had also served as Ohio State chairman of the Israel Bond Organization and was active in the leadership of the Joint Distribution Committee.
