Sol Satinsky, who holds important offices in a number of national organizations, was elected to serve a third term as president of The Jewish Publication Society of America at the Society’s 74th annual meeting held here.
Elected to serve with him were Judge Louis E. Levinthal and Jack Solis-Cohen, Jr., as honorary presidents; Justice Horace Stern, Dr. Jacob R. Marcus, Bernard L.Frankel and Bernard G. Segal as vice-presidents; Edwin Wolf, 2nd as chairman of the publication committee; Meyer Feinstein as treasurer; Jerome J. Shestack as secretary; Dr. Solomon Grayzel as editor; and Lesser Zussman as executive director.
Reports by the officers indicated that the JPS had distributed more than 160,000 volumes in 1961 and that it had enrolled 10,905 members during the year. Income of $462,843 was received against expenditures of $468,254 so that a deficit of $5,411 was incurred. The budget for 1962 was set at $475,000.
