At least one Jewish department store owner, it was learned today, had the foresight or good luck to sell out just a week before Anschluss, thus saving himself from almost certain expropriation. He is Herr Delfiner, philanthropist and founder of the Palestine silk industry. Today, Nazi storm troopers descended on his former store, Herzmansky’s, and arrested all Jewish employes, refugees from Germany to whom he had given jobs.
