An Israeli soldier was wounded by Egyptian sniper fire from across the Suez Canal today at a spot where an Egyptian mortar shell exploded earlier. Egyptian sniper fire continued last night and Israeli forces returned the fire. According to an Egyptian communique, two Egyptian soldiers were wounded. Two Arab saboteurs were killed last night in a clash with an Israeli patrol in the southern Golan Heights, a military spokesman reported. The saboteurs were apparently on their way to plant mines on a main road when they were intercepted and fled after an exchange of fire. A large number of mines were found on the scene along with a bazooka and shells. The dead saboteurs wore khaki uniforms and commando boots and carried two Kalachnikoff assault rifles. There were no Israeli casualties.
