Solon Spiro. Mine Owner, Dies at 65

Solon Spiro, widely known mine owner and former merchant, died here on Tuesday at the age of 65. Funeral services will be held today in Cincinnati.

Mr. Spiro, who was born in Germany, had resided in New York City for fifteen years. Until his retirement he was the president of the Silver King Consolidated Mining Company of Salt Lake City. Spiro Tunnel in Park City, Utah, was named for him. He is survived by his widow, Ida May Marks Spiro, who was with him at the time of his death, a sister, Mrs. Oelsner, of Breslau, Germany, and tow brothers-in-law, Leo R. Marks of New York City and Philip H. Block, of Cincinnati.
