Some 150 Jewish activists from federations across the United States fanned out on Capitol Hill to lobby their congressmen and senators to end a ban on food stamps for legal immigrants and to support more funding for low-income elderly housing. The group was also scheduled to meet with Vice President Al Gore. The annual gathering of Jewish activists, including social service providers, also issued a call on Congress and the White House to support increased funding for home health care.
