Some 1500 high school students in 18 schools in the Matte Yehuda region near Jerusalem will begin this week an educational project on “Jews in the United States.” The project, sponsored by the International Cultural Center for Youth in Jerusalem, in conjunction with the Ministry of Education and Culture and the regional council, is the first of its kind in Israel. Its purpose is to impart to students a better knowledge of American Jews, their history and their cultural background.
