Some 150,000 protesters gathered in Tel Aviv to call on Ehud Olmert and Amir Peretz to step down. The rally Thursday night followed Monday’s release of the Winograd Commission’s report, which cited critical failures by Olmert, the Israeli prime minister, and Peretz, the defense minister, during the first days of last summer’s Lebanon war. The rally was to feature performances by artists such as Aviv Geffen and Subliminal, and speeches by bereaved families. Politicians were invited to participate only as citizens.
