Some 45 members of the U.S. Congress called on Germany to investigate what they say are abuses in that country’s restitution program for Holocaust survivors. The representatives called on recently elected German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder to look into cases where survivors “have received offers well below what they deserved or even were rejected outright.”
