Some 63 Argentine immigrants arrived in Israel following the recent unrest in the South American country. The olim were welcomed by Jewish Agency for Israel officials and relatives at Ben- Gurion Airport and were taken to absorption centers around the country. In anticipation of a wave of immigration spurred by Argentina’s political and economic crisis, the Israeli government this week approved a package of special benefits for new immigrants from Argentina.
