Some 7,000 children are enrolled in Jewish schools in Greater Washington, with enrollment for the new school year almost completed, it was reported here. This is an increase from the 6,560 children in school at the close of last year.

Two new schools have been opened for this academic year, bringing the total to 33 in Metropolitan Washington. One of the 33 schools is an all-day school offering an intensive Hebrew education together with the complete public school curriculum. Twenty-seven of the schools offer from two to five afternoon and Sunday sessions a week, while the remainder have one-day-a-week programs.
