Some 8,000 people who were screened for Tay-Sachs disease by several companies between 1992 and 1998 are being asked to contact the firms to determine if they need to be retested. Three babies were born with the disease after their parents were tested negative by Corning Clinical Laboratories, MetPath, MetWest or Quest Diagnostics.
